Scarborough 最早在大約一千年前由Viking (維京人)在英格蘭的西北部 North Yorkshire登陸後逐漸成為一個重要的港口。中世紀時期，Scarborough 是來自全英格蘭甚至還有歐洲的商人經常聚集的一個海邊重鎮，非常繁華。
Scarborough Fair在歷史上是一個從八月十五日開始延續45天的交易市集。在那個年代持續如此 之長的市集是很少見的。後來這個市集逐漸冷清衰落，現在 Scarborough只是一個默默無聞的小鎮了。
Scarborough Fair這首歌曲原自一首古老(大約作於十三世紀)的蘇格蘭民間謎歌 (riddle song)。所謂」riddle
song」,是指那些民間流傳廣泛，但是不知道作者是誰的歌曲，而且由於人們的相互傳唱，本來的曲調已經改變了很多。
那個年代不像現在有版權的說法，所以歌曲的作者沒有能夠留下姓名。這樣的謎歌由漂流各地的遊唱詩人(bard或shaper)輾轉傳唱。因此年深月久，衍化出許多不同的歌詞版本。
在60年代，Paul Simon（保羅·賽門）與Art
Garfunkel（葛芬柯）二重唱將它翻唱、收錄於電影《畢業生》的原聲帶中。同時用頌歌(canticle)、以及對位重唱的形式演唱。
「Scarborough Fair」翻譯過很多名字如《史坎博展覽會》or《史坎博羅市集》.....等。片中的另一首歌曲《寂靜之聲》也頗有名氣。
《Scarborough Fair》是美國60年代最受大學生歡迎的電影主題曲、1968年奧斯卡獲獎片《畢業生》（達斯汀·霍夫曼主演，其成名作），之 後黃鶯鶯與
莎拉·布萊曼也翻唱過此曲。

原譯沒有標題，統雄老師參考詩經風格，訂名為：英風 上巳節
英風，就是「國風」之一的英格蘭。
上巳節是農曆三月初三，是漢族人古已有之的一個「情人節」。
《詩經》中的鄭風．溱洧篇，記載了上巳的活動，巧合的是：男女也在這一天互贈蘭花、香草、芍葯，和 Scarborough Fair 的風情極為相似。
